Questions

Is this paid work?

No. All contributors participate on a voluntary basis. Learn Kurdish Now is a passion project and is currently free for everyone who uses it.

What's in it for me?

Every contributor is credited by name for the work they provide, and receives a personal author page with a photograph, a short biography and links to their social media and website.

The author page is public and may be found through search engines. It may be referenced on LinkedIn, in a curriculum vitae or in a portfolio, and it demonstrates a commitment to Kurdish heritage and culture, as well as a willingness to take part in initiatives beyond one's professional obligations.

Contributors also become part of a growing community, in which Kurds from every part of Kurdistan and the diaspora may communicate, support one another and form lasting friendships.

The project is at its beginning, and its future scope remains open. Those who contribute to its foundation will remain a permanent part of it, and will be recognised as such.

Do I need perfect Kurdish?

No. A command of Kurdish acquired at home is sufficient. Every contribution is proofread before publication.

Which dialects are welcome?

All Kurdish dialects are welcome. The project begins with Kurmanji and Sorani, and speakers of Southern Kurdish, Zazakî and Hewramî are equally welcome to contribute.

How much time does it take?

Contributors determine the extent of their own involvement. A single article or a single quiz is a valuable contribution.

What happens after I apply?

Each application is reviewed in person, after which the applicant receives an email with an initial task suited to the selected roles.
